Set of Four Mid-Century Teak & Brass Candle holders
— Two Sculptural Forms, Scandinavia, c. 1960s
Two sculptural forms in turned teak and brass, brought together as a set of four. The first pair is gently waisted — an hourglass body curving inward at the centre before opening into a broad, flared brass cup. The second is slender and architectural, tapering cleanly from a narrow brass collar to a domed brass base on small feet. One pair is curvaceous and warm, the other precise and linear: two readings of the same mid-century Scandinavian sensibility, each made more interesting by the other's company. Throughout, the warm grain of solid teak set against aged brass — material-honest, formally resolved, and without excess.
The hourglass pair carries the original maker's stamp of Norsk Wood Products to the base, confirming Norwegian manufacture. The tapered pair is unmarked — of the same period and Scandinavian character, but offered without attribution.
Carefully restored and refinished in our workshop. Through our respectful restoration process, we prioritise preserving the distinct character and heritage of each piece, while ensuring it presents beautifully within a modern setting.
