The table is a gate leg drop leaf making it a great space saver and very functional.

The table is hardwood, made from Afrormosia - commonly called African Teak due to its grain similarity - with a teak veneer to the top.

In good used vintage condition, there are some veneer loss to the edges that was filled and repaired. It has been fully refurbished and sealed.

The table can comfortably seat six

(135cm wide x 91cm deep x 72cm high) or if half extended three.

The beauty of this design is that it folds away to a compact size (31cm wide x 91cm deep x 72cm high)

G-Plan was a pioneering range of furniture in the United Kingdom, produced by E Gomme Ltd of High Wycombe. In 1953, Donald Gomme, the designer at E Gomme, decided to produce a range of modern furniture for the entire house which could be bought piece by piece according to budgets. Designs were available for several years so people could collect them slowly.

Why vintage G Plan should be on your radar:

For furniture connoisseurs, G Plan is a household name. A rival to Ercol as a leading British 20th century brand – both founders Gomme and Ercolani were in fact close friends and professional peers – G Plan has produced some of the most recognisable furniture models over the last fifty years. Even if you do not know it yet, it is worth putting G Plan on your radar! An unchanging presence in many British households, G Plan blends very well with design across most eras. The timeless, simple contours of G Plan make it feasible for use in interiors both as statement design pieces and as stylish backdrop furniture to accentuate other leading features. The wood typically used in G Plan is teak, known for its rich depth of colour and practicality for everyday use.

As with mostly all Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality wood veneer.
