1970’s EE Meyer for Binnehuis Solid Imbuia Desk
A rare and distinguished example of South African modernist design, this absolutely exquisite executive desk was conceived by the celebrated furniture designer E.E. Meyer for Binnehuis during the 1970s.
Executed in richly figured solid imbuia, the desk presents a striking double-sided form, with four deep drawers to the front and an integrated bookshelf to the reverse, offering both elegance and utility. The sculptural angular legs, masterful joinery, and highly expressive grain patterns epitomise the craftsmanship for which Meyer is renowned.
The surface displays a lively interplay of colour and light, revealing the depth and character of the imbuia. Both practical and refined, this is a rare heirloom piece, designed to endure for generations while serving as a statement of modernist sophistication.
