  • A set of 4 dining chairs by DS Vorster, circa 1960

    These rare chairs have a solid Sapele Mahogany frame, rounded rectangular backrest fitted with a rectangular metal and strapping backsplat enclosed by a detachable fabric cover, above a panel seat, on front square-section legs and angled tapering back legs joined by stretcher.

    Their design strikes the perfect balance between minimalism and organic warmth.

    The wooden frames have been carefully refurbished and refinished, some minor signs of age might still be slightly visible.

    The fabric covers are new, a high-quality Hertex Fabric, featuring a Martindale rub count of over 50 000 and is easy to clean (washable).

    We try to capture the condition of our items in our photographs as best as possible. Prior to dispatch all items are carefully cleaned and re-coated with danish oil to ensure your item is looking its best when delivered.

    In our studio workshop, every item undergoes a meticulous inspection and careful restoration process. We prioritize maintaining the original charm and patina of the piece, while also making it a beautiful addition to modern interiors.

     

    Our Approach Includes:

    • Examining and reinforcing the joints
    • Cleaning the wood and removing any stains
    • Conducting veneer repairs as necessary
    • Polishing or refinishing surfaces to enhance their appearance
