G Plan - E. Gomme Ltd was based in High Wycombe, England, a major center of British furniture manufacturing. The company was revered for its range of high-quality sideboards, tables, and other cabinet goods and for pioneering the concept of furniture sets designed and made to match. G Plan were a key player in midcentury furniture design and production. Initially created in 1898 by E Gomme it wasn’t until 1952 when Grandson and designer Donald Gomme created a furniture range for the masses that evolved the company into the G Plan that we know and love today. The company were pioneers of modular furniture and understanding every buyer's unique needs. In the 1960s the rising popularity of Scandinavian design created healthy competition for G Plan and their solution was to hire Ib Kofod Larsen a Danish designer known for clean lines and comfortable materials.
