It has 5 drawers and a pair of sliding doors enclosing a shelf, on square-section tapering legs. The imbuia wood also referred to as Brazilian Walnut, grain and colour are beautifully active in light.

Exceptionally crafted, a real collector’s piece. Owning an EE Meyer piece is owning a piece of history, South Africa's most sought-after mid-century furniture manufacturer.

Overall a beautiful lightly restored sideboard.

    81cm high, 185cm wide, 51cm deep

The Binnehuis furniture stores were located in Cape Town and Somerset-West, and were owned by a Dutch businessman and his wife, Mr and Mrs van Ewijck, who moved between South Africa and the Netherlands. It seems they were most prolific during the 1960s.

As with most Mid-Century pieces, it is a good combination of solid wood and a high-quality thick wood veneer.
