    It has a rectangular top above four short graduated drawers and a pair of doors enclosing a shelf, on square-section tapering legs joined by a box stretcher. The light imbuia wood also referred to as Brazilian Walnut, grain and colour are beautifully active in light. Comes with an original key. 


     

    Exceptionally crafted, a real collector’s item and investment that will last a lifetime. Owning an EE Meyer piece is owning a piece of history, South Africa's most sought-after mid-century furniture manufacturer.

    As much as we love Scandinavian furniture, some of our mid-century South African pieces are just as beautiful. 

     

    Overall a magnificent sideboard in very good original condition.

    This vintage item has no defects, but it may show slight traces of use.  It has been meticulously cleaned and polished.

    The Binnehuis furniture stores were located in Cape Town, Stellenbosch Somerset-West, Newlands, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg and were owned by a Dutch businessman and his wife, Mr and Mrs van Ewijck, who moved between South Africa and the Netherlands. 

     

    Imbuia is not listed in the CITES Appendices, but is classified as “Vulnerable” on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
