Folding Teak & Oak Serving Tray Table ("Tixi") by Bendt Winge for Aase Dreieri, Norway, c. 1950s–60s
A Confirmed Norwegian Design — Teak, Oak, and Brass, with Maker's Label

This elegant mid-century folding tray table — the "Tixi" model — is a refined example of Norwegian modern design from the post-war period. Designed by Bendt Winge and manufactured by Aase Dreieri in Ganddal, it pairs a beautifully proportioned teak tray with oak folding legs and distinctive brass carry handles.

The clever construction allows the oak legs to fold flat via a rear mechanism, so the piece works as a freestanding side or serving table, then collapses down so the tray can be lifted off and carried with ease. Timeless in both form and function, it reflects the Scandinavian emphasis on versatility, craftsmanship, and understated elegance.

Highly sought after by collectors, these tray tables remain enduring design icons — equally at home in a contemporary interior or a classic mid-century setting.

A classic Scandinavian serving table that balances practicality with quiet sophistication — ideal as a drinks table, side table, or decorative accent.

Designer / Maker — Bendt Winge & Aase Dreieri

Bendt Winge (1907–1983) was among Norway's most prolific mid-century designers, working across furniture, interiors, and exhibition design, and collaborating with several of the country's leading workshops. The "Tixi" folding tray table was produced by Aase Dreieri of Ganddal, a Norwegian maker known for finely engineered small furniture. Winge's pieces are increasingly sought after by collectors of Nordic mid-century design and appear regularly on specialist international platforms.
